Last Year's Challenge
Our challenge last year (Land's End to John O'Groats) was a great success and thanks to everyone who supported us we raised over £4,250 for St Peter's Hopspice.
This Year's Challenge
This year we are hoping to beat what we raised last year and have set our target at £5,000, so please dig deep and give generously!
The challenge this year is to walk the entire length of Hadrian's Wall (86 miles) in 4 days and we've managed to recruit a few more people to take part this year (hopefully about 15) with two options; Heaven or Hell! For those who like to feel pain, the Hell option involves carrying a backpack weighing at least 20kg all the way, while the heaven option only involves taking a day sack (although 20+ miles a day walking accross coutryside is by no means an easy feat!).
Who is the Team
The team for this Year's challenge is:
Stuart Kelly
Blessing Fatola
Will Snyder
Simon Hughes
Jim Smith
Chris Needes
Andy Slayne
Dave Court
Tony Snadden
Jeff Kelly
Doug Hamilton
Who are we supporting?
We've chosen to support St Peter's Hospice again this year and will do for the next few years in an attempt to raise £25k in total. It's a fantastic, local Bristolian Hopice that provides care to the local community. Last year they had a £500k shortfall in funds and had to close down one of their sites, so this year we need your help to raise as much money as possible so that the Hospice can continue their amazing work.
How will your contribution help?
Running a hospice is an expensive business. For instance, is costs £70 for one physiotherapist session, £270 for the daily drug bill, £1,500 for a weeks worth of hospice care and to run the whole hospice for one day costs £13,000. So if we reach our target we would be helping the hopice to run for 3/4 of a day!
