My story

01/12/2011 - & THE VERDICT IS......

I have lost in total 3st 7lbs!!!!

The journey has had its ups & its downs, when I started off I had set a target of losing 5st by my birthday, which is tomorrow. I have worked really hard, joined a gym, cycled miles & miles whilst progressing in my new career as a Postlady, however, the weight I had put on over the years proved more difficult to shift than I thought, but I wanted to do this healthily, make a lifestyle change, rather than rely on the crash diets I had before. I consulted my doctor & he thought my 5st target was ambitious & also suggested that I shouldn't rely on my BMI indication (which was where I got the 5st from!) as it doesn't take into account build & muscle tone.

After visiting the doctor the last time (I had been going every 3 months or so to check on my official weight & progress) he said to me that 5st was definately NOT a good idea as judging by what I had already lost, due to my build, if I lost more than 4st I would probably suffer more, getting back problems due to being 'top heavy'!!! He told me that 4st was a realistic weight loss & that I would be better to go for that. So I did.....

Nearly there.... only 7lbs to go & a hell of a lot of toning up to do....the weights gone but lets just say that the skin is still there!!!!

So.... A MASSIVE THANK YOU to those who ave already shown their support, I will not let you down, I am determined to get there, however long it takes. Personally I feel like I have achieved a lot, I have a new outlook & attitude to exercise & I am a hell of a lot fitter than when I started this journey.

I hope you will continue to show your support I will do my best to keep you updated on progress.

23/11/2011 - Another week has gone by & I have lost another 4lbs!!! That's 7lbs in total people!!! WOW!!

RECENT UPDATE: After only 3 days on my new job as a postie & with my workout dvd, I have lost 3lbs!!! If I carry on at this rate I will have lost the 5st in 6months!!!

I've supported Tia for a while now, doing a sponsered walk a couple of years ago, raising just under £400 for them, I also adopted one of Deb's Greyhounds, Noah, in November 2009, who is an absolute joy to live with & is loved by Everyone he meets.

I have always been touched by the plight of the racing Greyhound & when I found Tia, wanted to do what I could to help, If I had room I would adopt every single Greyhound to come through Tia's doors!!! Though as is the case with a lot of people, the recession hit hard & I also found myself without a job & therefore can't spare my own money to help Tia along the way.

So, I thought fundraising is the way forward!!!

I also need to lose weight, lots of weight!!

So here it is I am Slimming for the Slim, the greyhounds of Tia!!

If I raise £70 for every stone I lose, that's £350 for Tia!!

If everyone who sponsors me, sponsers £1 a stone, imagine how much we can smash my target by!!!

It will give me the motivation I need to get off the sofa & into my walking boots!!! Please donate generously, for Greyhounds in desperate need of our Help!!
