21st May 2010 - Update from Hannah's family:

Thank you everyone for your continued support.  We are so moved by your generosity.  It is such a boost to Hannah and her family and I'm sure it is to Jack's family and all other B.T. sufferers too.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In August last year the THHN gave away its first free holiday to the Jones family from Chester, whose 16yr daughter Hannah has a brain tumour. Hannah is an incredible young lady who despite 3 major brain surgeries, to remove a cancerous tumour, and having a stroke, has raised £70,000 for brain tumour research. She recently won BBC switch Teen Hero Award which she was awarded on National BBC1.

The family stayed for 7 nights at the Hotel De La Mer and had an action packed holiday, with so many wonderful experiences to treasure forever in their memories.  To read an account of their amazing holiday, go to the THHN website www.thhn.co.uk.

We also met Jack Daly and his family.  Jack was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumour on the 27th of May 2009.  Jack has also had 3 operations and has undergone radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Brain tumours are supposed to be rare, yet the number of cases of primary brain tumours diagnosed is increasing year on year and survival rates aren't improving, like they are in other more well funded cancers.  Less than 1% of cancer research funding is spent on brain tumour research.  We need to find a cure for this terrible disease.  Please help with whatever you can afford, it's not just raising money to help find a cure for Hannah and others like her, but it's very much a morale booster too, to see so many people care.

And a message from Hannah and all her family:  A big THANK YOU to "Saint Luke", the big-hearted founder of THNN, who never stops in his quest to help others less fortunate than he is.  Luke, you're a legend!
