Greyhound gaits · 5 September 2009

Tia Greyhound & Lurcher Rescue was founded in 1996. Our work primarily involves the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of ex-racing greyhounds. However, the scope of our work also includes other sighthounds such as lurchers, as well as a variety of other animals like heavy horses and ponies.

We set of at around 10:15 after a few pictures in front of our starting point SELBY ABBEY, joining Tain & myself were my dad Mike, my sister Abigail & her Greyhound Buttons, my best mate Katie & her German Shepherd Lexi & another of our friends Rachael & her Collies Fred & 12 week old Milly!!!!

As we set out the weather was Sunny & we were all in good spirits, following our map of the Selby Horseshoe Trail!

We took the canal towpath as instructed by the map & the dogs all enjoyed a good off lead play, I think they probably walked three times the distance we did with all the running back & forth, in & out of the canal they did!!! But they had fun & thats all that matters!!!

Inbetween there was a slight shower but nothing really to write home about!

We met up with Rachael's mum along the way & she joined in the trek!

The walk was lovely as we passed through Brayton Barff woods, very scenic......even though it was a slight detour & added about a mile onto our journey!!!

Then we hit our half way house The Fox Inn at Thorpe Willoughby, compliments to the chef there, the food was just what we needed!!!

We carried on back round to Selby....some of us had sore feet & paws but we made it!!!!
