Story
Since Harper was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, we have worked to raise necessary funds for the Diabetes Research Institute and their quest to find a cure for this disease. To all of our family and friends that have supported us along the way, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
As an update, Harper is a Freshman at the University of Georgia and a newly initiated brother of Tau Epsilon Phi. He is living his best life at college, despite COVID and diabetes. We are so proud of how far he has come and how he is determined to live his life to the fullest while managing this challenging disease.
In continued support of the DRI, we have decided to launch a Virtual Fitness Challenge Fundraiser for National Diabetes Awareness Month in November. In our crazy, new “normal” life during COVID, it is difficult to come together as a group to support those causes closest to our hearts. Despite these challenges, the work MUST continue at the DRI. So how can we all help to support this incredible organization?
Here is how this event will work:
For the month of November, Andy and I are challenging ourselves to each run 100 miles! Since COVID, running has been our "therapy." It forces us to get outside everyday, stop working, and clear our heads. In support of our personal goal, we are donating $100 to the DRI. We are asking you to either support our goal by donating any amount you are comfortable with OR…set your own goal/challenge for the month. Through this site, you can create your own personal (or family) challenge and reach out to those closest to you to support your endeavors. With each challenge, more people will learn about the DRI, their important research, and help thousands of people who are hoping and praying for a cure for this disease.
So if you like to run, walk, swim, bike, dance, do yoga, shoot hoops, or work on your six pack, please consider joining us on the fun mission to create awareness and raise crucial funds for research.
The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is the organization of choice for those who are serious, passionate, and committed to curing diabetes. Its mission - to provide the necessary funding to cure diabetes now - is a testament that tomorrow is not soon enough to cure those living with diabetes.
Please help us reach our goal by either making a donation to our page or participating. The more people that know about the Diabetes Research Institute, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
