Story
Talan Penny a 19 year old from Bude (Cornwall) died from a rare cancer (rhabdomyosarcoma) in May 2017.
Talan was a childhood friend and used to visit us on holiday.
Talan's Trust was setup in his memory to raise money for childhood cancer research.
In 2017 less than 6 months after Talan died, Talan's Trust put on a 19km run through Bude. As 2018 would have been Talan's 21st birthday, they made the run 21km. This year, 2019 its going back to 19km (1km for every year he lived).
I took up running to 1) get fit and 2) help raise money for Talan's Trust, and I've completed both of Talan's runs.
Whilst training for these runs I thought it would be a brilliant idea to help give back to my local community. So I completed a Run England course and qualified as a LiRF (Leadership in Running Fittness) in February 2019.
I started the Hartpury Running Club and although I am running the group as a free service, donations to Talan's Trust are greatly appreciated.
