I'm, fundraising for BASICS Essex emergency medical charity. They help save lives in communities across Essex and can be at your side in minutes, day or night. They receive no government funding and rely solely upon your donations.

BASICS critical care team were called by the ambulance team on the 24th September 2023 to help save my dad whose heart had stopped beating. I remember in the haze of that day how kind they were and explained to us what was happening and what would be tried next to help. Unfortunately despite all their efforts my darling dad didn’t pull through. 

In the days following my dads passing, I came across their card that had been left with us. I hadn’t realised at the time that they were separate from the NHS ambulance service and were all volunteers. What incredible people! On finding out they receive no government funding and knowing first hand how much their kindness meant to myself, mum and sister on that awful day, why would I not want to raise as much  money as I can for them?
