Ban(galore) Party...
Thanks to everyone who came to Ban(galore) and made it such a fun night! xx
So what's this all about then?
Thank you very much for visiting my JustGiving page. The reason you're here is because in April 2010 I'm off to to help build homes for people currently living in sub-standard accomodation. Yes that's right, I'll be learning the art of brick-laying and for 8 days will be putting these bulging biceps of mine to good use. Now for a bit more about 'The Global Village Project' itself...
There are 'village projects' happening world wide, all of which are organised by registered charity 'Habitat for Humanity': www.habitatforhumanity.org.uk. Our project will be in a developing area of where a staggering number of locals currently live in overcrowded slums, under bridges, on train station platforms - the list goes on. We will be helping to re-home one family in particular, as part of 'Habitat for Humanity's' wider vision to turn this area around.
And just so you understand exactly what your kind donation will go towards:
£1250 for travel from the , accommodation (basic i.e. tent/hostel), meals/water (basic/local), local transfers, excursions, first aid provision, team leadership, insurance, orientation materials, and management overheads.
£500 for Habitat for Humanity
£500 for NABS (NABS is a registered charity who support the marketing communications industry, by offering emotional/financial support, practical and professional advice - see www.nabs.org.uk)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you very much -
Hayley
