Thanks to all who were so very kind and generous!!!! As you can see we raised far more than anticipated. I finished in 1 hour 51 minutes and 55 seconds and Bernard came in at 2 hours 12 minutes and 59 seconds.

I am entering the Great North Run for the 7th time to raise money in memory of my sister, Janet, who died as a result of Multiple Sclerosis in September 2003 and for my brother, Arthur who also has M.S. and has deteriorated since my sister died. I am really thrilled that my husband Bernard will be joining me on the start line this year. He used to run until he had major knee surgery in early 2000. He has lost a lot of weight to help him get round and although his knee is still riddled with arthritis he is now enjoying running again albeit at a much gentler pace.

Our daughter Sarah is also helping to raise money with her friend Fiona by entering the junior race on the Saturday.

An estimated 85,000 people in the have Multiple Sclerosis and every week 50 people are diagnosed, this disease needs to be beaten. It is too late for my sister, but if our fundraising can make a difference to one M.S. sufferer, it is worth all the effort. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.
