Heart Care is a Cardiac Rehabilitation unit in Walsall and receives around 800 referrals a year for people who have suffered with heart problems. Paul works for heart care and John, Andy and Scott all work for Kendrick Homes Limited. None of them have ever completed a marathon before, however, John, Andy and Scott completed the Long Mynd Hike last year, which is a 50 mile hike, to raise money for Heart Care and The Air Ambulance. They completed it in just under 16 hours!!

John Bowen 

"I am 43 years young and married with 3 children. Having completed the Hike last year I have decided to set myself an even greater challenge and have dusted off my running trainers to enter the Berlin Marathon 2010. My Father in Law has had open heart surgery and more recently a heart valve replacement. The Cardiac Rehab that followed was invaluable in helping him and my family through a very worrying time. Heart Care is a Charity well worthy of this personal challenge of endurance" 

Scott Drummond

" I am 30 years old and live in Shrewsbury. We enjoyed the hike so much last year that this year we have decided to do a Marathon! My Grandad died from a heart attack 6 years ago, which was caused by hardening of the arteries, So I am very happy to raise funds for such a great Charity"

Andy Cockayne

" I am 41 years old and live in South Shropshire with my long term partner and two children. This year its down to "brass tacks" and on with the BIG ONE and the Berlin Marathon 2010 ensues. I shall be training long and hard for this one and shall pursue this personal challengeon behalf of a more than worthy charity. All the best to my colleagues persuing this ambitious goal with me, I will need all the help I can get!!!
