My niece, Emily, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour in June 2014.
The past few years have been an emotional rollercoaster of operations, radiotherapy, hospital stays and appointments but Emily continues to amaze us all with her resilience and enthusiasm for life in general. Despite ongoing medical complications and severe visual impairment as a result of the tumour, Emily is a happy seven year old and attends a mainstream school with the support of a SEN teacher.
None of this would have been possible without the wonderful care that the staff at GOSH have, and continue to provide to Emily and our family.
The RideLondon 100 GOSH team are raising money specifically to fund vital new parent and family accommodation. When a child is rushed to GOSH to receive treatment, the last thing a parent should have to consider is where they will sleep and how they can afford it. Your support will help families stay together when their child is critically ill.
