As many of you may already know, I am taking part in a week-long hitch-hike to Hungary from 22nd-29th March 2010, as part of Sheffield RAG's Bummit. I will have to beg, borrow and steal (well, perhaps not steal!) my way to Budapest, with a budget of just £15 to help me along my way. The trip is in aid of two charities, which Sheffield RAG support: 

Catch 22 works with young people between the ages of 15 and 25 who are involved in criminal activities, offering them counselling and education to help them become more independent and productive, as well as providing support for their families and communities. Over the years, the charity have worked with tens of thousands of people to help young people in difficult situations, which in turn benefits whole communities. 

Fable promotes awareness of epilepsy through education and publicity. Donations are primarily put towards Vagus Nerve Stimulation Therapy, a treatment for those with epilepsy which cannot be controlled with medicine alone. The charity also support the Epilepsy Information Drop-in Centre in Sheffield and provide help and support for families of those affected by the condition. 

So please dig deep and donate whatever you can - I know it's a cliché but every little helps. If you're a taxpayer, don't forget to select the Gift Aid option - it won't cost you any extra but it means that the charities will receive a little bit more.
