Story
Hi,
I am running my first 26.2 mile race in the Edinburgh Marathon on the 23rd of May and...
I want your ORGANS.
My brave Auntie Hilde recently underwent a lifesaving liver transplant. Up until then she was a healthy, fit woman with no lifestyle abuses. Nonetheless, after a rare reaction to medication, she found herself in the Transplant ward of The Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Within days she was thankfully put at the top of the U.K transplant list, the average wait is 149 days. Hours later, a liver was sourced, a complete stranger and their family had made that life giving choice. My auntie is now well on her way to recovery and will be able to push her newborn grandsons in their buggies by summer.
Our family will be forever grateful for this miraculous act of generosity and value of human life.
To give the other 7934 people waiting in the U.K a chance of life, more organs are needed. The lives of as many as 50 people can be
drastically improved or saved by just one donor. So please, take 5 minutes, go to the link below and register as an organ donor.

Good job if you are already a donor and for anyone with added generosity, money donations will be received by The Transplant Trust. Please click on the DONATE button to make a contribution.
Thanks so much for listening, and if you are around Edinburgh on the 23rd, some cheering around the 20 mile mark would be very much appreciated
Helen
