As part of the Events team at Oxfam, we had predicted 2020 to be a big year for both festivals, third-party events and for our event Trailwalker. However, it has been a roller coaster to say the least!

Although our events may have stopped, Oxfam's and The Gurkha Welfare Trust's essential and life-saving work has not. Oxfam has been responding, firstly to the threat of coronavirus, and then the reality of the pandemic sweeping across the world. Oxfam have been keeping families safe, supporting front line workers as well as providing food to vulnerable people. Oxfam are hoping to reach over 17 million people with hygiene kits, access to clean soap and water and food assistance. 

GWT have continued to provide support to Gurkha veterans, their communities and families despite the challenges that have been faced by their staff with lockdown measures being in place across Nepal.

I will be taking on the Trailwalker Relay with my team, collectively walking 100km and I will be walking 25km during the week of the 21st September. 

The Trailwalker Relay is a challenge for teams to walk 100km collectively, splitting up the distance between their team members and completing it in the space of a week. This event supports the work of both Oxfam GB and The Gurkha Welfare Trust.
