Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Lesotho is one of the poorest countries in the world and has the third highest HIV prevalence (23.6%). More than 130,000 children have been orphaned by the disease. The epidemic has had a devastating impact on families, communities and economic development.
Vodafone Employees are coming together to raise funds so that 41,000 young people living with HIV/AIDS in Lesotho can receive care and treatment. My team is running, walking or cycling the distance of the boarders of Lesotho (909km) and I’ve been contributing to this so far by cycling (those of you who know me, know that swimming and running are not an option!). For the month of November, I’ve decided to give this extra personal focus and as I can’t (won’t!) grow a moustache for ‘Mo-vember’ I’ve decided to declare the month ‘Move-ember’. My commitment for the 41,000 kids dealing with HIV/AIDS is to spend 41 hours moving in the gym (still delivering some kilometres to my team) which averages out to 10 hours per week. Since my move to Newbury (from NYC) I’ve not really spent much time in the gym, so I assure you this is way more than I have been doing!
I don’t usually ask for money, but do give regularly to others (some of you may have benefitted from my charity budget before). So even if you don’t think my endeavours are particularly impressive – watch this video and see if you can find it in your heart to make a donation.
If you’d like to donate, you can do so by visiting my page here: http://www.justgiving.com/Holly-Paine or text GEHP99 and the amount you would like to donate (for example GEHP99 £5) to 70070. The page doesn’t look much yet, as I keep getting error reports, but I’ll post updates on it as I progress through the month.
Thank you :-)
Holly
