Hubert gets on his bicyclette
Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After years of hearing "on your bike Hubert" I've decided to finally take the sentiment to heart and do just that. As a result I will be participating in the London to Paris Cycling Challenge in September 2010. Over four days I will be cycling over 300 miles from Blackheath in London, through the French countryside and crossing the finishing line (hopefully) at the Eiffel Tower. A wonderful challenge, all in aid of The Alzheimer's Society, a charity which is very close to mine and my family's hearts having recently lost my father to the disease. My fundraising target is £1,300.00 but having put my money where my mouth (and saddle) is, I will be paying the costs of £700.00 myself which means every penny received will go direct to the charity to help in their very worthwhile work. The money raised will also contribute towards Lockton's Charity of the Year fundraising target and will be a great way to end our fundraising campaign for Alzheimer's. It's not just good news for the charity though, I'm hoping that as a result of all the exercise I will finally fit into my new slimline summer suit which currently languishes at the back of my wardrobe. Plus as an added bonus, photographs of me completing the challenge in Lycra on my bicyclette will be available for viewing to all sponsors. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So please dig deep and donate now, every penny really does help.
