Update: 29th May:

We have just had a two hour practice ride on the tandem and can confirm our worst fears... it will be very tough, however we have discovered one interesting and important fact.... Grant cannot ride as the rear gunner!

But this all means that the sponsorship you give will be well earned by us over the three days of tandem riding, so please give generously!!!

Two years ago we cycled the Pilgrim's Way (145 miles from Cantebury to Winchester) and, as a group raised over £10,000 for three small charities that we think are fantastic...

 

This year we are striving for an even greater challenge in aid of  Papua Partners, who are a UK charity founded in 2006 and support a development agency run in West Papua by our friends Javier and Naomi Sosa. The objective of the charity is to bring sustainable improvement to the people of the poorest and least technologically developed region of West Papua. 

In just three years, by working primarily with a local partner organisation, Yasumat, the Sosas’ work has been recognised by other NGOs and the indigenous people as the most potent agent of positive change in the region.  The United Nations Development Program has recognised Papua Partners work by citing Yasumat as an example of how to deliver an efficient and effective development program by empowering local people.

Our challenge then?.... To ride the Pilgrim’s Way again, but this time in on a tandem!!!

Is it possible?            Probably!*

Is it foolish?               Oh yes!

But will it be fun?      Absolutely!
