Story
My son fell asleep 0n 1st august 2009 aged 27,it was a tragic accident that no one could have forseen, christopher slept away in his sleep leaving his family and friends devastated and heartbroken,it is every parents worse nightmare to lose one of there children and i cannot describe the emotional heartbreak you go through, everyone deals with a bereavement in different ways and i found that going out and running helped me cope with the heartache of losing my son, as i got fitter i joined a local running club namely rons runners based in irvine with the idea of maybe running for charity in christophers memory,I acheived this goal last year when i ran a 5 k to raise funds for the vanessa riddle foundation. this year i have entered the great scottish run and hope to raise money for macmillan cancer care in memory of sean rooney the son of my friend and workmate pat, young sean was diagnosed with cancer in february 2012 and sadly passed away august 2012 aged 15, after a brave fight against this disease, sean was a very athletic boy who was a talented footballer and was a gold medal winner at cross country races, to lose there son was utterly devastating and heartbreaking for pat,his wife jackie and there family,in a recent conversation with pat, he spoke very highly about the help and support his family received from the macmillan cancer care during and after seans illness which is why i would like my friends to support me in running the glasgow half marathon for the macmillan cancer care charity.thanks for reading my story. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
