We offer free cancer patient transport to help cancer patients get to hospital

Story

‘Myself and colleagues from Santander are supporting Brian Burnie (of Daft as a brush) with his dream to bring free cancer patient transport to the whole of Great Britain and Ireland.

For the last 2.5 years Brian has been walking the UK and Irish coast lines to raise money for Bluebell cancer patient care. On the 23 September he’ll be walking the final leg to The Baltic centre in Gateshead having covered an unbelievable 7000 miles!

In the month of September colleagues from the North East Region of Santander have taken up the challenge to collectively cover the same 7000 mile distance, which must be by foot!

My personal challenge is to walk 20000 steps every day in Sept and my team are committed to walking 500 miles collectively.

We would love your sponsorship to keep us going and remember every penny gets doubled by Santander

About the charity

By walking 7,000 miles around the Great Britain and Ireland, Bluebell Cancer Patient Care aims to highlight the difficulties of Cancer Patient Transport and raise £1m by public and commercial donations, sponsorship and goodwill, to offer this transport service nationwide. We propose to create a network of ‘hubs’ in strategic locations to create 1 million free cancer patient journeys.
