We build electric eco-fences in Africa to protect Africa's threatened ecosystems

Story

WE WON UKRC

DO NOT DONATE ANY MORE ON THIS PAGE

We were the Victor Ludorum on the 3rd October after coming 4th in the final Tiger line, 3rd in the Rhino Charge and 1st in the fund raising. We had a brilliant day inspite of the weather, finding punches in impossible places, getting the car through difficult gates, extracating other sticken competitors from very muddy hollows and even difusing a bomb.

We now have the opportunity to go to Kenya and do the real Rhino Charge but it is all dependent on dates and sponsorship so watch out for a new page

Ken, Sammy and I are doing a couple of events on wheels this year to raise money for Rhino Ark.

First:- Czechwrecks -  Now complete 2340 miles through seven countries in seven days over August bank holiday. Water pistol fighting nuns, 2700m passes, lost in France, searching for elusive pink cars in Italy and finding a model A ford in Prague all added to the fun. see the photos on www.streetsafari.com

Second:- UK Rhino Charge - An off roading challenge in the Daihatsu on October 3rd.

Rhino Ark http://www.rhinoark.org/ is one of my favourite charities. They have built a fence around the Aberdare National Park in Kenya to reduce wildlife / human conflict. It keeps the poachers out of the park and the animals out of the crops. They continue to do great work maintaining the fence and preventing the reduction of  habitat, important not only for the wildlife but essential as a water catchment for 10 million Kenyans.

Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu. These provide an "ark" for wildlife such as rhino, leopard, elephant and mountain bongo as well as protecting vital upland watertables of Kenya
