So I set off trying to walk 85 miles in 24 hours in the Scottish Widows Isle of Man Challenge on the 25th/26th June 2011.

Unfortunately I had to retire after only 45 miles, as my  recently diagnosed CS (Compartment Syndrome) that I thought was under control, came back with a vengeance and meant I simply could not keep up the necessary pace to finish the stages in the required times. I only recently had it diagnosed so unfortunately didn't have time to get it rectified properly before the event. Although this is hugely frustrating for me, I now have time to get it rectified properly and intend to return to finish the job properly as soon as is practical.

Thank you again very much for your support, your time and very kind donations.
