I weighed myself on 18th March, just before lockdown, it wasn't pleasant reading! According to the height to weight charts I needed to lose approximately 6.7kg (or about a stone for us oldies) to meet my target weight. Since the 18th March I upped my (somewhat limited) workout regime with this goal in mind. I have a birthday coming up later this month, friends have been constantly commenting on the length of my hair (for my age) & with the world going through this devastating pandemic I thought it might be worth combining the weight loss & hair removal into a way of raising some money for both The Film and TV Charity & the NHS (I've had to set up a separate page for this). 

I've been a part of the TV Industry for almost 30 years & this pandemic has had a devastating impact on the freelancers who make up the majority of the workforce - most have fallen through the gaps when it comes to any of the Government backed aid packages so this is my way of giving a little back to an industry that's served me well for so long. 

Likewise with the NHS staff who are selflessly putting themselves in the front line to protect us, day in & day out......I won't go into a political rant about the underfunding from successive Governments over the years, this is well documented......but thanks to all of them, whatever their roles.

Whilst I'm realistic enough not to expect Capt Tom's levels of donations I'm hoping to raise at least £500 in total to split between the 2 charities, so please choose whichever suits, thanks for taking the time & making the effort. Anything over the target amount will be given to the chosen charity & I'll update you with progress at the end of the month.......or once the hair clippers have arrived from Amazon, whichever is the latter!!
