I made a decision back in August 2014 that at 47 years old it was time to sort out my weight at 22s 7lbs in August. I set out thinking if I could loose 3 stones I would be happy but realistically I needed to loose about 7 stones so I started mountain biking again after a long lay off to achieve this and after only 2 months I lost the 3 stones with some very hard work. So with this in mind I thought the 7 stones target was achievable I kept the mountain biking up and here I am April 2015 at 14s 6lbs a staggering loss of 8s 1lb loss and feel 100 time better health wise.

I am out mountain biking almost every day so I got to thinking whilst I enjoy mountain biking so much why not do a charity ride or two and raise some funds doing something the I get so much enjoyment from. Barnsley Hospice is a very valued local charity that provides care for those and their family in most need of care at a very hard time in their lives. I am now a member of of Barnsley Mountain Biker we are all like minded people with a passion for riding mountain bikes we are out in a social group every weekend and some midweek night rides we are  aimed at all levels of fitness from from the new unfit riders to the elite super fit we have rides to suit every level of fitness.

I cannot stress the health benefits from cycling in any form it's 90% how I achieved my weight loss.

I would like to try and raise £250 for Barnsley Hospice this is not a massive amount but it will go towards helping someone in more need than me.
