A dog lover all his life, Ian’s own dogs brought him an immense amount of joy, love and contentment over the years. Later in life Ian was to find this again when his Son and Daughter-in-law regularly brought their dogs to visit him and he would join in with dog walks too. In this picture you see Ian with Penny, an ex-Woodside rescue dog, who had just won a prize at a local dog show.

Ian also had a particular fondness for this charity, as his daughter-in-law, Amanda, has supported and volunteered for the charity for many years.

Ian specifically asked for a simple, no frills funeral and rather than money being spent on flowers he would much rather that donations be made to RSPCA Woodside in Leicester.
