CHIEF'S CHALLENGE · 30 July 2008

Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

As Executive Director with Cleveland Fire Brigade, I’m hoping to meet the challenge of raising the minimum of £1,000 for the Firefighters’ Charity by competing in the Chief’s Challenge 10k Run. I hope to influence you to support me by sharing with you some of my credentials from my long sporting contribution to the game of rugby.

I started on the wing (and some will say I’m still winging it….) when I was picked for the 5th team. I was promoted to the 4th team before I’d even played a game because I told the selectors I could run 100m in 11 secs. I then became a No. 8 and my aim was to pick up the ball and run at people (something else I’m told I still manage to do very effectively in the workplace).

As many of you may know, I did the Great North Run in 2007 in aid of the British Heart Foundation and by the finish line thought I was going to need their aid, instead of vice-versa.

Please support me in my quest to beat the "Big Guns" (namely John Doyle http://www.justgiving.com/cfodoyle) by donating in the most efficient way through this website with the added benefit for the Charity of "Gift Aid".

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks

Ian
