Chief's Challenge · 4 August 2008

Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

‘Come ‘N Have a Go If You Think You’re Hard Enough!’

As Chief Fire Officer for Cleveland Fire Brigade, I am hoping to meet the challenge of raising the minimum of £1,000 for the Fire-fighters Charity by competing in the Chief’s Challenge of 10K run.

I will never give in and have been practicing for years for such a moment as winning this race. I might be one of the longest serving CFOs, but I’m not giving in just yet to wannabees (yes you Ian -www.justgiving.com/IanHayton).

I have often been seen on the training ground at Manchester United with Ronaldo and showing him a trick or two from an ‘old hand’ but also learning from Ronaldo how to give others the slip with a little shimmy here and there. I have also been on the golf course once or twice this year to practice my concentration. I have given myself a bit of Reiki therapy and believe I am as prepared as I will ever be to win this 10k race and make as much as I can for the charity. So please support me in my quest for further stardom.

I also want you to know that as a once famous rugby player, I know that the other term for a No 8 is ‘Flanker’ Mr Hayton!

Please support me in my quest to raise a substantial amount of money by donating in the most efficient way through this website with the added benefit for the Charity of ‘Gift Aid’

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

So please sponsor me now!
