Story
Thanks for looking at my page :O)
The plan is to keep it updated throughout the ride (internet dependant) I will send out links when I have them. Hopefully get some pictures and video of whats going on!
What I am doing...I will be riding in a team of 5 from Lands End to John O'Groats in 9 Days. This is not something I would normally chose to do or am I naturally good at. Really should have done more training (not like me!)
For my part, the reason...
On 12 June 2007 we lost our friend Emily Rose Loughrey to a wildform of cancer. Emily was just 22 years of age when she passed away.
On the 16th July I will be riding in celebration of Emily and the people who's lives she touched (and still does). Emily was one of life's truly beautiful people, and I feel privileged to have known her.
She has inspired so many good causes it is hard to count now, the first of which was organised by her father Matt in 2008. In fact, it was a bike ride from Lands End to John O'Groats, it raised an enormous amount of money and was a tribute to the courage and spirit of her family and friends. As well as Emily's Father, her sister Jess completed the 900 + mile bike ride, Matt would send in reports to KMFM on the progress of the team. I listened glued to the radio every morning to hear of their success, willing them on and wishing I was there. I was extremely proud of the whole team and vowed that one day I would be honoured to have the opportunity of completing the ride in memory of Emily.
