Most of us know of somebody who is suffering or has suffered from Multiple Sclerosis.

Well in June, I was due to undertake a gruelling 5 day, 60km trek across Iceland to raise much needed money for Aims2Cure, a Charity which funds research at The Institute of Neurology and The Institute of Cell and Molecular Science, into finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis .

However, due to the much publicised volcanic eruptions in Iceland, the trek has been moved to The Transylvanian Alps in .

On the 22nd June, my team and I will fly to Romania and begin our arduous trek through 'The Bucegi Mountains', the days will be long, covering difficult terrain and climbing to heights of over 2,400 metres above sea level.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.

Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision.  The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another.  Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.

To date, Aims2Cure has raised over £650k in their continuous effort to try and eradicate one of the most common neurological diseases amongst young adults, currently affecting around 85,000 people in the .
