My dear friends, family and colleagues,
You may be aware that I have committed myself to a physical challenge this year.
In April, the
LONDON MARATHON - 26.2 miles of ?&*@#!
I hope you will share my excitement and nerves and join me in dedicating this year to a great cause...
In the winter 2007, after a cervical screening test it was discovered that I had abnormal cervical cells. It was
Stage 0- It means that there are cancerous cells in the cervix. But they have not spread away from where they started or begun to grow into the deeper tissues of the cervix. August 2008 I had laser therapy to remove abnormal cells; the operation was a success and I was able to recover soon after that.
It was an emotinal journey for me, determination and drive to win the battle at that early stage. I promised myself that as soon as I was fit enough; I would raise funds for research into cancer, and help others to win the battle.
Please help me for ‘AMMF raising funds for research into cancer’ and ACT NOW by submitting a donation of any size.
I hope you understand that this charity is very personal to me and it means so much that you can contribute. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I hope you will be able to support me this year!
In the meantime, bring on marathon training....ughhhhhhhh!!! Anyone want to join me for a jog?!
Many many thanks and best wishes for 2010!
Ilkay
