Story

Me my twin sister Rachael Leonard and friend Vicky Ellis are running 5K to raise money for Inbetweenears charity.

This is a charity very close to my heart as a close friend of mine Natalie has a brain tumour.

Two years ago, whilst Natalie was pregnant with her second child, she had a seizure. This brought to light a brain tumour, on the left side of her brain.

Over the past couple of years, not only has Nat had to cope with everyday life & being a full time parent to 2 children, she has also had to have countless hospital appointments, scans, medicine and just the general realisation that she has a tumour.

Nat was recently given a few choices about how to move forward with her situation - none of which will be an easy decision to make.

she can live with it and see how long it will let her live. With the size and location of it, this could not give her as long as old age would. Within this time, her tumour may become cancerous - if it does this will reduce her life rapidly and there would be no cure. Or she could operate on it now, but like any op this has its dangers. She could have a stroke or be left serverly disabled.

Nats decision at the minute is to take a good few months out to enjoy her children, family & friends, but then have the operation next May. In this time, Nat also wants to raise awareness about Brain Tumours and raise money for Inbetweenears charity.

The Inbetweenears charity was set up by a young man called Jay. Jay himself is also living with a brain tumour exactly the same as Nats - only Jays is cancer and the doctors predicted he wouldn't be here today. Jay is a huge inspiration, helping others and spreading awareness about this awful illness.

Any amount that can be donated is greatly appreciated by us all!

Thank you.
