Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many young people need help today as never before, and I wanted to show my support for them by swimming the Leeds Liverpool canal! OK, perhaps not the actual canal, but the equivalent distance between the home of the Vice president of the CIH, Julie Fadden in Liverpool and the president of CIH, Geraldine Howley based in Shipley; a distance of 127.25 miles.
This equates to 204,789 metres or 8,191 lengths of a 25 metre swimming pool or more to the point 70 lengths a day, 5 days a week!
This year the CIH are supporting The Princes Trust, a charity that works with young people from 13 to 30 who are unemployed or struggling at school and helps them to transform their lives. Many of the young people they help are in, or leaving, care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or have been in trouble with the law. They offer free programmes give young people the practical and financial support they need to stabilise their lives.
I’d be really grateful if you could help me support young people by sponsoring me to complete this challenge.
My team will be plotting my progress week by week, between the 4th January and the 11 June and sharing updates via my Just Giving page.
