Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Here at Incommunities we're really excited that this year our Group Chief Executive, Geraldine Howley, has been the President of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). As part of her role, Geraldine has raised funds for The Prince’s Trust as her chosen presidential charity for the year.

The Prince’s Trust supports 13 to 30 year olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. They have supported over 750,000 young people since it was founded in 1976 and help 100 young people every day. The Trust run a range of programmes to give practical and financial support young people may need to stabilise their lives.

To raise funds for The Prince’s Trust members of the Incommunities’ team have taken part in events throughout the year. To start things off Geraldine Howley and two of our Assistant Chief Executives – Adrienne Reid and Greg Robinson – took part in the challenging Great North Swim on Lake Windermere in June 2015, clearly they enjoyed it so much they’re on for a second dip!

Once again the team will be swimming a mile of Lake Windermere, and training has begun in earnest at Ilkley lido – which given the recent snow and hail in April has been an interesting experience! Adrienne will be ending her challenge to swim the equivalent length of the Leeds Liverpool canal so we’re expecting record times! Fingers crossed that the weather improves and that the great British Summer is on their side!
