Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. A fund has been set up called the Incredible Archie fund to support CLIC Sargent.

 

On 16th September 2013 our lives were turned upside down when our 3 year old Son Archie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) . One minute we were a happy family living altogether and the next minute taking Archie to the GP then we were rushed to Bristol Children's Hospital not knowing what was happening in the next hours,days,weeks or months.  It all seemed so surreal and through the surreal ness there to support myself, husband, son Charlie and of course Archie was CLIC Sargent Social Worker who arranged for us to have accommodation in CLIC House just a few minutes walk from the hospital . This meant that  both parents could stay close by to Archie and our other son Charlie could come to visit at weekends. It meant our family could be together and support each other through this life changing time. When Archie was discharged from Bristol Children's Hospital it meant that he could stay with us in the 'Home from Home' house, knowing we were close to the hospital meant we could relax abit and spend some quality time as a family. Friends and Family members visited us at the house and this was a great support for us all.  In total we spend Seven Weeks at CLIC House and this was all funded by the charity. Being at the house helped myself and my husband  come to terms with what has happened and we could chat to other parents who were going through similar life changing experiences. We all supported each other. 

Now being back in our own home we have the continued support from the CLIC Sargent Social Worker and the CLIC Sargent  Nurse. We will have the continued support until the end of treatment which is at least another 2.5 Years. This is why we would like to support the charity and we will do all we can to raise money so it can continue to support other families that will unfortunately go through the pain and heart break that we have been through and are still going through. 

We are a strong Family and have a huge support network but without CLIC Sargent. our family would not have been together at the most crucial and emotional time of our lives. 

Our Son Archie has been nickname 'Incredible Arch' as he is a big fan of The Incredible Hulk. At times he nearly turned into Hulk due to the steroids side affects and the mixed emotions he went through. The Consultants and Nurses all refered to him as Incredible Archie and to us he is just that, a real fighter .
