Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On Thursday 26th November, 15 volunteers from Inpoint (formerly Aon Carrier Consulting) took part in a "Make a Difference" day for the charity Crisis (http://www.crisis.org.uk) by carrying out work at their warehouse to support the nine centres for the homeless at Christmas. We aim to raise £5,000 towards food, clothing, the cost of equipment and IT to keep a Christmas Centre open for one day.
Crisis helps provide shelter for those sleeping rough and provide companionship and support to the vulnerably housed. The centres also provide life-changing advice and medical services to help people to take their first steps out of homelessness and link people up to year-round support and opportunities. What makes their work possible is the help of thousands of volunteers and donors who generously give their time, energy, money and skills each Christmas.
The Task
The Inpoint team cleaned, packed and prepared equipment needed to set up a Christmas centre. This was to prepare for the delivery of food, bedding and medical supplies for its 1,500 guests/day.
The £5,000 we aim to raise will contribute to delivering Crisis Christmas to its guests. This doesn't only cover the cost incurred of hosting a Make a Difference day but go towards the installation of temporary kitchens and IT infrastructure for one centre to be open for one day. Any donations will be gratefully received and will ensure Crisis achieving its Christmas opening.
As a follow up, the week during Christmas we will visit one of the centres and see how our support in the warehouse and your donations have benefited people that most need it.
