On Sept 25, ten intrepid paddlers from the Institute of Cancer will be rowing 21 miles from London Docklands to Richmond to raise funds for Centre of the Cell and DebRA.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DIVIDED EQUALLY BETWEEN THESE 2 CHARITIES.
Centre of the Cell
Centre of the Cell is a science education centre, outreach project
and online resource benefiting children and young people from deprived
areas of East London. It seeks to have a positive influence on the
lives of the young people it works with by improving educational
attainment and raising career aspirations. Centre of the Cell is
dedicated to inspiring curiosity and learning by connecting science to
everyday life.
DebRA
DebRA is the national charity working on behalf of people suffering
from the genetic skin blistering disease Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) in
the UK. People with this condition have an increased risk of skin
cancer. There is currently no cure for EB but there are treatments
which may help to control the symptoms and avoid further damage to the
skin.
