We raise funds for renal patients in Wales to receive a better quality of life

Story

So I have decided to raise money for a charity close to home which is the Paul Popham charity.

This charity is a kidney disease charity who raises money to help patients across wales to relieve a better quality of life. There are around 10,000 people with renal disease in wales and more at risk. Whilst renal failure predominantly affects people at later stages in their life it still affects a lot of young people as well.

A lot of people may not know that I was born with a multi cystic kidney, which basically means I only have one working kidney, but I’ve been thankful enough to never have faced any problems with this, I had check ups every year until I was 18 to keep an eye and I’ve been so lucky to live a healthy non problematic life but I know that a lot of people aren’t as lucky, so I thought I would raise money for this amazing charity by running 5k for 15 days, it’s not going to be easy as I only started running in lockdown but it’s a challenge I have set myself as I’ve never done anything like this before, I would be so thankful even if you donate £1!!

About the charity

We work with our organisations that support our beneficiaries, that support patient with kidney disease to provide them with items that will improve the renal patients quality of life and we work with Welsh Kidney Patients Association to support welfare applications.
