Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was diagnosed with Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), one of the forms of Vasculitis, in March 2011.  The disease caused my kidneys to fail and I now have Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease.  I am currently in remission, thanks to various drugs and the excellent care of King's College Hospital.  

I decided to do a charity walk to raise funds for Vasculitis UK and also raise awareness of this rare disease which can be fatal if not diagnosed and treated quickly.

The walk is just one part of the Thames Path Walk and Walk London/Walk 4 Life have various routes and with differing distances. 

I have chosen Section 2 which is 6 miles and will take us past The Houses of Parliament, Tate Modern and The Tower of London to name but a few.

We are planning to walk from Victoria Station down to Vauxhall Bridge and then on to Tower Bridge following the North Bank of the River Thames. The terrain is an easy and level surface.

We will cross the Thames to South Bank as there is always entertainment going on not far from the London Eye area.  This will offer a chance for a pit stop at Jubilee Gardens to have your lunch/drink and a short rest before we continue our journey along South Bank to Tower Bridge to finish at the Millennium Pier in front of the Tower of London :-)

Many of us taking part in this walk will have one of the forms of Vasculitis, their family and friends will be taking part too. We hope raise awareness of Vasculitis but also raise funds for VUK as we go on our walk.
