Story
In April, I will be donning a pair of trainers to run / jog / walk / hobble / crawl the 26.2 miles of the Paris Marathon. You will be pleased to hear training is going well; early morning runs interspersed with boozy ski trips and stag do's will hopefully see me cross the finish line in under 4 hours.
I am taking on this challenge to raise much needed funds and awareness for the MPS Society, an organisation that has provided life saving support for a friend's son.
The Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases (the MPS Society) is a voluntary support group founded in 1982, which represents from throughout the UK over 1200 children and adults suffering from Mucopolysaccharide and Related Lysosomal Storage Diseases including Fabry Disease, their families, carers and professionals. The Society is a registered charity entirely supported by voluntary donations and fundraising and is managed by the members themselves. The Society has the following aims:
- To act as a support network for those affected by MPS & Related Diseases
- To bring about more public awareness of MPS & Related Diseases
- To promote and support research into MPS & Related Diseases
