I will be writing a poem a day
throughout the month of May
and largely because it rhymes
and gives me thinking time,
I will be running from couch to 5k. 

(That doesn't count as the first poem.)

I'll need something in front of me everyday for inspiration, so poems will largely be on the theme of home and maybe running and maybe other things.

For "Couch to 5k" you run three times a week slowly increasing the run each week over the course of 9 weeks, culminating in a 5k park run. Let me know if you want to join me. I will be starting from low level fitness though so be prepared to do a fair bit of walking. I will be aiming to beat my previous time of 29mins15.

This is very much about mental and physical fitness. Each helping the other. 

I have joined the Macmillan Mayhem team raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I don't need to say why it is a good cause, but Macmillan nurses are heroes and they need every penny we can raise.

You may have already donated to others on the team. The first 31 donators can adopt a poem. You don't get cards at Christmas from your poem unfortunately, but you'll get updates if ever they appear in print.

I'm working virtually full time at the moment and have father, husband, dinner, and washing up duties. I expect to be well behind on Game of Thrones. This is going to be fun but difficult and your support in pounds and pence and words will be gratefully received.

Right then, now I need to go shopping for trainers and a pen.
