Story
Ok, so here goes... I wanted to add some personal information to this fundraiser with my own back story that many people may not be aware of, but also to show how this can happen to anyone and how much good can come from this charity.
Many close family and friends will know why this charity will always hold a place in my heart, but for those that don’t know, this is a small story of how they have helped me and so many others, not just women but all people.
We had some extremely tough times growing up, my Mum was in an extremely dark place and couldn’t see the light. It all started from falling to temptation, which can happen to anyone, no one is perfect. She ended up in a toxic relationship between drugs and violent people, this unfortunately had caused a ripple effect that caused so much trauma and damage to her and many around her. After years of darkness, arrests, violence, moving from place to place, prison time, along with a very unstable life for us all, more than I can even get in to. However we finally seen a glimmer of light. She was at her very lowest and found the courage to confess to my Nan and Grandad about her addictions. That was the first biggest step, she felt shame, embarrassment, guilt, but then there was Trevi. A place that wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the beautiful Roma French (Mother of Dawn French) who helped us more than I can express as well as the staff, who my Mum definitely gave a hard time.
