Story
Hey guys!
Thanks very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm aiming to raise a couple of hundred pounds for the NSPCC through running my first ever marathon on October 4th 2009 at Loch Ness, Scotland. I've been doing an (enormous!) amount of running the last few months and am now in the last few weeks of my training. It's been pretty tough going at times, but the satisfaction and sense of achievement I will gain by simply crossing that finish-line will make it all well worth it :)

What does the NSPCC do? We have 180 community-based projects and run the NSPCC Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands. Most of our work is with children, young people and their families. We also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people. Our aim: We want to see a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. To do this, we have four objectives:
-
To mobilise everyone to take action to end child cruelty.
-
To give children the help, support and environment they need to stay safe from cruelty.
-
To find ways of working with communities to keep children safe from cruelty.
-
To be, and be seen as, someone to turn to for children and young people.
