Story

Update: Done it!! Fabulous view & great adrenaline rush. See the pics!

On behalf of our village church, and with 8 others from St Mary’s, I am abseiling off the tower of Guildford Cathedral.  Considering I get vertigo in the dress circle of a theatre, this is quite a challenge for me…I am simply terrified of heights. Yikes!

As many of you know, the ‘Revitalising St Mary’s project’ is my job and to lead from the front I thought I should put my stomach where my mouth is and push my personal boundaries. So with my new “feel the fear and do it anyway” attitude I would really welcome your support. Click "read more".

We have over £310k (80%) and have forecast another £35k by the end of December 2010, which leaves us still to raise £44k to be able to start the work in January 2011.

I would be grateful for your support - many thanks.

About the charity

The Revitalising St Mary’s Project aims to reinvigorate Shalford’s church. We want St Mary’s to be at the heart of our community. Whilst we are doing essential repairs to the flooring, heating & lighting, we plan to refurbish the interior to create a flexible layout for use by community groups.
