My son Joe was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 5 years ago at the age of 4. This lifelong illness is extremly hard to manage on a day to day basis both medically and emotionally not only for the child but the whole family.

JDRF is fundamentally involved in the delivery of breakthroughs in the search to cure type 1 diabetes. This research will ensure that people affected by type 1 have a better quality of life and eventually a cure may be found.

Running 26 miles in the Virgin London Marathon is a challenge but nothing compared to what my son and the thousands of other children face on a daily basis so please dig deep and donate no mater how small or large it all helps.
