Story
On the 13 June 2015 our beautiful son Jasper was born. Within hours of his arrival our baby boy suffered a collapse and we were told he had suffered a massive intraventricular bleed in his brain and that he was fighting for his life. In the early hours Jasper was taken by CATS transfer team to Great Ormond Street Hospital for emergency surgery.
He spent the first 3 and a half months of his life in Great Ormond Street and underwent ten surgeries in his first 6 months under the incredible care of NICU & the Neurosurgery team on Koala Ward, his first being on the day after his birth. During those very stormy early months, Jasper's fighting spirit helped us to find ours. He continues to amaze us every day. He faces the challenges of epilepsy, hydrocephalus and hemiplegic cerebral palsy. But despite it all, he is an absolute delight; our ray of sunshine. Jasper's journey is still ongoing, with the prospect of more surgery. But he is the most content, happy little man and we know the depth of his strength to fight. And we are utterly indebted to the skill, care and compassion of all at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Thank you to all who continue to give generously to this fabulous hospital that has given us a chance at life with our brave son Jasper. Our little warrior baby.
