The six members representatives from the provinces of Canterbury, Wales, York and Scotland, have planned a Mothers’ Union meeting with a difference for 2012.
The aim of this event is to travel from Land’s End to John O’Groats by public bus to raise awareness of the work of Mothers’ Union.
The event begins on August 9th Mary Sumner day, at Land’s End and finishes at John O’Groats on August 15th.
The route has been divided between the four mainland provinces and the whole journey will be completed as a relay, with the members representatives travelling across the section of the route that they represent.
We hope that many people, whether Mothers’ Union members or not, will join in as the bus travels through their area. The bus route will take seven days to complete. You can join at any bus stop along the route, or at one of the many bus stations where there is a chance to join in the event without getting on a bus. Some connections at bus stations will feature a ‘lunch’ or ‘tea’ and will be highlighted on a day by day schedules which will be posted when the final route has been confirmed. If you can't make the bus route then you can support Mothers' Union with a donation on this Justgiving page. Your donation will go to the Wheels Appeal which funds transport costs for overseas Mothers' Union volunteers and staff as they deliver vital help through projects such as the Literacy and Development and Family Life programmes.
