Story
Ruh-oh, here we go again...!
Can't quite believe I am doing this ... I vowed after last year's Great North Run that I would never do a Half Marathon again... it was the hardest thing I'd ever done - I somehow finished it, promptly fell ill and couldn't walk properly for a week!
I told my friends to slap me if I ever even thought about doing it again.
And now here I am, sans slap, gearing up for another one. This time in London, but the distance equally daunting.
My only saviour is that I'm doing it for a charity which means an immense about to me - Bart's and The London Charity - our charity at work for a year and it looks after three hospitals including The London Chest Hospital. This is where me and my family spent many hours over many days while my dad recovered from major heart op a few years ago. The doctors and nurses were so amazing, very kind to us and kept us informed and calm the whole way.
This is my small way of repaying them. I'll run a great deal (13.1 miles) and try not to keel over doing it, and you don't have to... please just donate a few spare pennies? Here's the science: donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. If you're a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now - go on, it'll only take a second... and for such a worthy cause too.
See you at the finish line... in one piece hopefully!
Thank you! Jeena
