Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having set myself a personal target to run a half marathon in 2010 I chose the Reading Half Marathon and having completed 6 weeks of training so far, realising how hard it is I though I should at least raise some money for charity for all this pain and hard work!
Most of you visiting this page will be aware that I lost my Grandad on 5th January this year. Grandad had Leukemia for many years before he died which I know caused him a great deal of hassle and pain. He would tell you a different story, when asking him how he was he would always say 'I’m alright it’s them others'! Spending 8 hours in hospital each time to have blood transfusions on a regular basis was hard for Grandad at 85 and he never moaned. Therefore, what a great charity for me to pick.......
Leukemia & Lymphoma Research is focused on finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running groundbreaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients.
Every donation no matter how small is greatly received. Please also feel free to come along on the day to see the pain in my face. It’s Sunday 21st March at the Madjeski stadium in Reading. The race starts at 10am and ends whenever I drag myself over the finish line.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks,
Jenny
