Monday 19th April
Well I did it!!!!!!!!!!! Made it round in 4 hours 42 minutes. Was an amazing day. A touch on the warm side for my liking but the sunshine brought the spectators out in their thousands so that really helped. I wore my Fair Havens vest with Jenny written on the front so had people shouting "come on jenny" and " well done jenny" all the way round. That certainly helped especially on the last 3 or 4 miles which were really tough going. Crossing that finish line was such a great feeling!
Thanks to everyone for the donations!
Saturday 17th April 8am...
Thanks to all who have donated. This time tomorrow will be heading to the starting point in Preston Park, Brighton along with about 10,000 others. Hoping for the weather to be kind, not too warm and not too windy! The start gun goes at 9am, so think of me then and for the next 5 or so hours...
On the 18th April I will be running in the Brighton Marathon. Its the first ever Brighton Marathon and back in the summer registering seemed like a good idea. Now that its nearly here I thought I would take the opportunity to try and raise some funds for a local charity, FairHavens.
I've been training hard since the beginning of the year, have been running in the snow and torrential rain, somehow managed to avoid any major hockey injuries, and above all been virtually alcohol free for 3 months! Can't quite believe its only a few weeks to go before the big day...
So to help get me round the 26.2 miles and make every step worthwhile please just click and donate.
Thank you!
