British Gas Swims Britain Charity Challenge · 30 June 2013

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 30th June British Gas are aiming to raise £1m for GOSH, with British Gas Swims Britain.  Around the UK hundreds of employees, and families, will be swimming for this great cause.

I’ll be pulling on a wetsuit and taking part in the open water challenge, swimming a mile in Dorney Lake, Windsor. The lake is best known as the 2012 Summer Olympic and Paralympic venue for rowing and canoe sprint. Amazingly,  4 million tonnes of gravel, 2 million cubic metres of soil and half a million cubic metres of clay were excavated during its ten year construction; so it’s pretty big.... and pretty cold!

But it’s definitely worth it, and any donation is greatly appreciated, as GOSH is such a great cause, offering so much care & support for children and their families, who are going through all kinds of illness and challenges.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
