Story
In April I rented a bike from the local government to see how I would get on with the commute to work and I am glad to say I have been completely won over by the cycling bug - my journey in is now 20 minutes shorter and my thighs are well on the way to competing with a certain Olympic champion!!
So after only 3 months of cycling, when an email came my way, I bravely (or stupidly?) decided to enter the competition to be part of LLC's team in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey in which riders need to complete the 100 mile route.
Other than probably being the hardest form of physical endurance I will have ever put myself through - I have done a number of small charity runs and assault courses over the years but nothing compares to what I'm about to take on - I will be cycling in full support of the charity, which has been doing stellar work for the last 30 years to make London roads a safer place for everyone using them.
As well as being a huge personal goal, if my participation helps towards encouraging more people to have the confidence to get on their bikes and feel safe cycling round our great city then that's a good enough reason to me!
Please donate!! I will thank you kindly :)
